Our Care and Safety Measures

INFECTION CONTROL FOR DENTAL PROCEDURES

  • All contact areas and washrooms are sanitised frequently.
  • All our dental staff strictly adhere to use of personal protective equipment including gowns, masks, gloves, scrubs and face shield.
  • Before the dental check-up or any procedure, patients are requested to rinse the mouth with 1.5% hydrogen peroxide or 0.2% povidine iodine mouthwash.
  • We use high volume suction to contain the spread of aerosols.
  • Areas and items of equipment local to the dental chair are cleaned between each patient with 1% sodium hypochlorite and ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI).
  • We use HEPA filters and maintain proper ventilation with air-supply vents.
  • Follow all OSHA and the local municipal guidelines for biohazard waste.

STERILIZATION PROTOCOL

We follow the highest standards of sterilization for all our dental equipment. Based on the guidelines established by the Centres of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Centre of Health Protection (CHP), we follow a five-step sterilization process:

Pre-sterilization cleaning- All instruments are soaked in softened water with surfactant and rinsed thoroughly in water to get rid of all remaining cleansing agent.

Drying Instruments- The instruments are dried under compressed air.

Packaging- All the instruments are packed in separate heat-sealing sterilization pouches and processed for sterilization.

Sterlization- Our clinics use highly reliable Class B sterilizer autoclave only which is a type of pre-vacuum autoclave. This provides the necessary conditions for sterilizing all dental instruments.

Storage: After sterilization, all the instruments are kept wrapped in sterile pouches, placed on perforated aluminium trays and stored in a UV chamber.
